On Christmas Eve, are you going to be hunkering down in front of a glowing fire with a drink in hand and your favourite festive movie ready to help you glide into the big day? Or, will you be racing around the shops in a desperate attempt to get your friends and family something they’ll love for Christmas. This year, we want to help make your Christmas as stress free as possible, and make sure everyone can wake up to the gift of local on December 25th. From last Town & City Gift Card ordering dates, to nifty sales points and new digital gift cards, here’s how you can get your hands on a local gift card- no matter how much time you have left!
1. A first class gift
The second best thing about a Town & City Gift Card is that they can be delivered direct to the recipient (we all know what the best thing is the amazing businesses they can be spent at), so that means no wrapping and no rushing to the post office to make sure your loved ones get the best gift ever. Pick your favourite Irish Town & City Gift Cards, add your gift messages, and place your order by the 20th December 2021 at 12 noon, and we’ll send them direct to the recipient in Ireland, by first class post, in time for the big day! For posting to Great Britain, please place your order by noon on Friday 17th December, ready to catch the last guaranteed Anpost pre-Christmas GB post on Monday 20th December.
2. A special delivery in more ways than one
A Town & City Gift Card is definitely a special delivery, one little card and a whole town or city of possibilities! And to make sure your chosen Town & City Gift Card gets to your intended by December 25th, we’ve got some other dates you need to know. For sending gift cards within Ireland and to Great Britain, the last posting dates for express delivery are the same as for regular post. Sending to the US, you get one extra day when sending express with the last Anpost posting date being the 10th December instead of the 9th December, and the 8th December instead of the 4th December to the rest of the world. Just make sure to place your Town & City Gift Card order by 12 noon the day before, and that little piece of local magic will be winging its way to the recipient by Christmas.
3. Santa’s helper
We’re going to tell you something that not many people know. Lean in close. As well as online ordering, Town & City Gift Cards can also be picked up at lots of locations in Ireland. Yep, if you’re more last minute than Martha Lane Fox and you’ve missed the last posting dates, or you just want to feel that lovely Town & City Gift Card in your own sweet hands before posting it on yourself, check out if your chosen Irish gift card programme offers Load This Card. If it does, there will be places in your area to pick up your chosen gift card in person and load with a balance, ready to send direct to whomever you choose!
4. The digital saviour
Town & City Gift Cards introduced something pretty special in 2021, digital gift cards. These little digital beauties work through the Mastercard network and digital wallet services such as Apple Pay. Buy one for a pal and they get the digital gift card straight away. So fast in fact, that you could ALMOST do your present shopping on the way to Christmas lunch! They receive a text or email with their digital gift card code, add the balance to their digital wallet, making their purchase using their phone, or even using their Apple watch. The Lakes Gift Card will be one of the first places in Ireland to have its own digital gift card, keep an eye out here to see when it’s live.
Remember, every order made through the Town & City Gift Cards website between now and the 31st December 2021 will be entered into the Golden Gift Card prize draws, with the tenth and final draw taking place on Facebook on Friday 31st December, for a £500 Town & City Gift Card. Happy Christmas!
