Love Drogheda BID have announced that they will be launching a brand new Local Gift Card this November to help support local business. The card will be accepted in all participating outlets and will be available to purchase online via the Love Drogheda website. The Gift Card will be the perfect present this Christmas by offering users a fantastic level of choice and variety throughout the town. Love Drogheda Chairperson Geoff Fitzpatrick noted “The Gift Card is one of our primary project proposals, it is a project that has direct benefits for our town retailers who are experiencing unprecedented challenges this year. The Love Drogheda Gift Card will be an opportunity for the general community to help support your local businesses and keep our town unique and vibrant”
The team are currently registering businesses to accept the Mastercard backed Gift Card on a daily basis. The Love Drogheda Gift Card will be an ideal gift for all occasions such as retirements, birthdays, Christmas bonuses, staff rewards, prizes and fund raisers as it will give the Gift of Choice!! Board member Jackie Joliffe of the Crafty Fox added “One of the key requirements was the flexibility of the card, it can be used in store or online with participating outlets and the Gift Card is commission free, so if you spend €100 in a shop, they get €100. I am proud that we have been able to deliver this project for the town of Drogheda!”
Love Drogheda Gift Cards are guaranteed to stay local as they can only be used in participating stores. If a local store has a digital presence it can be used on this aswel. The Gift Card is perfect for Christmas as you can use it in a variety of ways as you can; heat your home, buy your Christmas outfit, get a haircut, use it in a restaurant, cafe, car wash, boutiques, gyms, laundrettes, sports clubs and many more amenities. Trevor Connolly, Love Drogheda Chief Executive noted “The Gift Card is an excellent project and one that can be very beneficial to employers, if you are in a position to reward your staff this Christmas via the Small Benefits Exemption Scheme, I would encourage all employers to look at supporting the Love Drogheda Gift Card as this is a way of securing and supporting a healthy town centre”
This year, we are asking you, to think local, shop local and support your town.
